Phrenology - the general time of Flowering and seeding activity
for the vegetative composition on this site would be from July
' through September, depending upon the individual specie.
7. Previous history of land - The past use of the site was two-Fold,
The first site (western portion) observed has been used for a
' dumping site for solid waste disposal, e.g. auto bodies, refri-
gerators. etc, Secondly, portions of this site leave been used
for a feedlot, from the 1920 's to the earl} 1970 's, The eastern
portion of the site has been used for grazing and would be
' considered unstable river bottom and not a range site. There
is no known archaeological, historical or cultural values attached
to this area,
'
8. Trees - There were three species in evidence at the site. They
were cottonwoods, willows and a sparse stand of ash. The size
of trees varied from saplings to trees having a trunk rliameter
of approximately lA inches. The vegetative survey on the site was made. The dominant soils on
this site were Fluvaquents, sandy, cn 0% to 29„ slopes, and
' Fluvaquents, Haplaquolls, on 09, to 1`~ slopes. The Fluvaquents,
sandy, would not correlate to a distinct range site, but rather
' would be designated as simply Instable River Bottom; whereas, the
Fluvaquents, I'aplaquolls, on a 09o to 19.• slope would correlate to a
Salt Ideadav Range Site, with salt-tolerant grass being the pre-
dominant species occupying the site.
