The dredging will have no impact on the quality of <br />' water in the South Platte River. <br />INTRODUCTION <br />t The Sterling Ready-Mix Concrete Company, Inc., proposes <br /> to dredge gravel from the Riverside gravel dredging az~ea <br /> located in 'the floodplain of the South Platte River irr <br /> Section 28, T.BN., R.52W, The area is located in Logern <br />' County approximately 1 mile east of the City of Sterling. <br /> Figure 1 shows the location and boundaries of the dredging <br /> area. The Sterling Ready-Mix Concrete Co., presently <br />' leases the area. Following reclamation, management oi` the <br /> area will be the responsibility of the Northeast Colorado <br />' Game and Fish Club and be used for recreational purpo;~es. <br /> This report describes the water resources on the <br /> dredging area and the impacts of the dredging operations on <br /> the surface and ground water systems. <br />' WATER RESOURCE DESCRIPTION <br /> <br /> Surface Water <br /> The South Platte River lies 200 feet west of the dredging <br /> are and is the principal source of water to the area.
