EXHIBIT E ( C-~nt'd)
f
f
dl
d d
l
t
l
h
d
i
ee
ot and a goo
ea
o
ca
t
e waste
as been
epos
ted
' on top of the soil. An approximate five-acre area was
stripped previously and sold as top dressing (see map,
' Exhibit C). Some soil, varying between 0 inches and 9 inches,
has been collected and used in the dike along the north and
' i
k
b
t (
t
t
id
f L
k
h9
Th
f L
R
wes
er
eas
-
s
es o
a
e
arjor
e.
e area o
a
e
o
' ernmost area) is covered with Fluvaquents-Sandy, so sandy and
with such low natural fertility that, in effect, it cannot
' be considered topsoil and wll be extracted for sand. The
minor amounts which can be used for topsoil will be preserved
' erimeter of Lake Robert
al
n
the dike aro
nd the
.
g
p
o
u
' (h) With respect to the hydrologic balance, a drEdge opera-
tion will simply remove the sand from an aquifer and leave
' the water in place. No external disturbance of the quality or
quantity of water on or off the affected land will occur.
There is that amount of quantity disturbance which exists
' because the water has been uncovered and open to the ~ctmosphere
by succeeding years of operations during the forming of the
' two lakes. The evaporative process (see Exhibit G) w:_11
increase the water use approximately 64.95 acre-feet ;annually
' when the 28 years of dredging operations are complete. Nego-
tiations are in progress to obtain a water supply sufficient
to minimize the depletion of the streamflow in the South Platte
' River in the vicinity of the proposed dredging area.
(i) No landslides or other damage is possible o,~tside
' the affected area.
(j) Erosion, air pollutio^ and water pollution will not
'
~
occur.

10 /
