Sump Drill Hole ;11 2/20/98 <br />groundwater <br />• AGE = 22,170 +/- 100 C-1U years BP (C-13 corrected). <br />(6.33 +/- 0.07) ~ of the modern (1950) C-14 activity. <br />Description: Sample of groundwater. <br />Pretreatment: The sample was rapidly transferred, by aspiration, to <br />an evacuated flask, and acidified to recover carbon <br />dioxide From the dissolved carbonates for the analysis. <br />C-13 analysis was made on a small portion of the same <br />evolved gas. <br />The sample was very small in size and analysis by <br />accelerator mass spectrometry was required. <br />Comment: <br /> <br />Notes: This date is based upon the Libby half life (5570 years) for "C. The error stated is do as judged <br />by the analytical data alone. Our modern standard is 95% of the activity of N.B.S. Oxalic Acid. <br />The age is referenced to the year A.D. 1950. <br />
