Petersen <br />Mayo & Associates <br />710 East 100 North <br />Lindon, Utah 84042 <br />Sample Name: SOM-23-H-4 <br />REPORT OF ANALYTICAL WORK <br />Date Received: 0 8 / 15 / 97 <br />Date Reported: 08/25/97 <br />AGE . 15,580 +/- 810 C-14 years BP (C-13 corrected). <br />(14.38 +/- 1.45) ~ of the modern (1950) C-14 activity. <br />Description: Sample of groundwater. <br />Pretreatment: The sample was rapidly transferred, by aspiration, to <br />an evacuated flask, and acidified to recover carbon <br />dioxide from the dissolved carbonates for the analysis. <br />C-13 analysis was made on a small portion of the same <br />evolved gas. <br />The sample was very small and analysis by accelerator <br />mass spectrometry (AMS) was required. <br />Comment: Very small sample; approximately 0.6 grams carbon. <br />. bi3Ca0e = - 9 ' 3 ~ <br />------------------------------------------- <br />Notes: This date is based upon the Libby half life (5570 years) for'"C.
