July 1993 -24- 923-2515 • <br />along Grassy Creek has dE:graded tl~e native grassland to a sagebrush shrubland with many <br />introduced weedy species. <br />The brushy loam range site is dominated by serviceberry (Amelanchier alnifolia) and oak <br />(Quercus gambeli~), but also has snowberry, chokecherry (Prunus virginiana) and rose (Rosa <br />woodsii). Major grasses pn:sent include: nodding brome (Bromopsis ciliates), mountain brome <br />(Ceratochloa marginata), slender wheatgrass, western wheatgrass, Letterman needlegrass (Stipa <br />lettermanii), and Columbia needlegrass (Stipa Columbiana). Elk sedge (Carex geyen) is <br />generally the most frequently occurring plant. Productivity in the brush loam range site varies <br />from 1500 to 2000 pounds per year. <br />The SCS has not produced a description for the aspen woodland range site. This range site <br />would be similar to the aspen forest of the Peabody Yoast study area as described by Buckner • <br />(1990). <br />5.1.8 Dryland Agriculture <br />There are no dryland agriculture areas along Grassy Creek. <br />5.2 Unnamed Draw <br />5.2.1 Stream Flow.
