CEC Resaonse
CEC plans to keep cuttings within the confines of the drill pad where topsoil has been
stripped, and a sizable portion of the cuttings are anticipated to be handled by means
of the mud pits. Again, if ground conditions dictate, a small berm may be constructed
to aid in the handling of water at the site, and this would also serve to control
cuttings.
DMG Concern
10) What is the maximum number of seismic holes that will be installed? Note that
the right of access is also required for the seismic transects.
CEC Resaonse
The maximum number of seismic holes is not certain at this time, as our review of
exisiting data is not yet complete. CEC wishes to reiterate our feeling that this activity
falls under the exemption put forth in the regs for diminimis disturbances such as
power poles, fencelines, etc. in regard to topsoil issues.
CEC is aware of the right of access requirements for seismic lines, and will secure
required access prior to initiation of seismic work (scheduled for 1995/1996).
DMG Concern
1 1) CEC should revise its bond estimate to reflect the bonding of an additional 10
boreholes in the event that twinning becomes necessary. The Division is•
currently in the process of calculating the bond necessary for this NOI. The
results will be forwarded to you when they are complete.
CEC Resoonse
Please refer to our response to Concern #6.
Should you have any questions or comments, please contact me at your convenience.
Sincerely,

Marcus A.
