It is the intention of these inquires to help the op~
with the Mined Land Reclamation Act, and provide recommendations '
help return the site to a beneficial use as required by Section 3~
of the staute. Please resond on a point-by-point in the order gig
Pre-Mining Map
II I' II III I II "II III
sss
e have
or
rator comply
hat will
-32-101(13)
en below.
1. The location of cottonwood trees and other mature woody vegeta ion should
be portrayed (Rule 2.12(3)(e)). Also, because of possible damage 'mposed on
phreatophytes as a result of dewatering operations, the Division r quests that
the map portray such vegetation located outside the area given as he permit
boundary 34-32-11b(1)(i).
Folloiaing a visit to this site on April 12, 1984, the staff would ike to
request that the operator dewater to a shallow trench parallel and adjacent to
the north side of the pit in order to reduce drawdown and provide Ater for
the trees here, obviously, the trench outlet should connect to the river.
2. The map should accurately portray the location of existing roa s, power
easement(s) and relationship of the stream/swamp to the operation oudaries
(Rule 2.12(3)(b).
Plining Plan
1. The application does not discuss the dispositian of excess top oil
recovered from the area to become a pond and should be addressed h e. The
plan should also indicate the affected areas where topsoil will be stripped
and salvaged for later replacement upon reclamation.
~r n__._.. .. ...I ^..:1., :.~,. 10.0 Cr-.. ,..., ., w. _.. nn....n. r„~_.-.a ..
