L1~ COMMENCIAITESTING & ENGINEEFINGCO. <br />l^i ABSTRACT <br />Commercial Testing and Engineering, Co. (CT&E) conducted a two species acute bioassay on <br />Western Fuel -Colorado's New Horizon Mine discharge site 007. The purpose of this bioassay <br />was to determine if the facility complies with the WET portion of the Colorado State Permit <br />System Authorization to Discharge. The test organisms utilized were the fathead minnow <br />(Pimephales promelas) and the daphnid (Daphnia magna). Test results indicate that the <br />effluent was not acutely toxic to either species. Therefore, Western Fuels -Colorado <br />discharge site 007 ett7uent is in compliance with the acute WET portion of its Colorado State <br />Discharge Permit for the third quarter of 2002. <br /> <br />t <br />t.4 <br />-aze <br />
