GENERAL INFORMATION
LANDMARKTM MP herbicide is a convenientuni[ pack that is mixed in water and
applied as a spiny. Open package and empty entire contevts of both compamnenrs
into spray tank.
LANDMARKTM MP controls many annual and perennial grasses and broadleaf
weeds in non<rop sites.
LANDMARK'"' MP may be used for genera] weed contra) on terrestrial non-crop
sites and for selective weed control in certain types of unimproved turf grasxs on
these same sites. LANDMARKTM MP can be tank muted wide ocher herbicides
registered far use in non-crap sites; when rank mixing, use the most resvicdve
limitations from the labeling of both products.
Do not apply more than 6.0 Quotes active ingredient Sulfomemron methyl per acre
er year when using this product br any other product containing Sulfometron
ethyl.
o no[ apply man than 2.25 ounces active ingredient Chlorsulfuron per acre per
ear when using this product or any other product containing Chlorsulfuron.
LANDMARK''' MP convols weeds by both preemergence and postemergence
activity. The beat results arc obtained when the application is made a[ ac before
the early.smges of weed growth; before weeds develop an established root System.
Moisture is required to move LANDMARKTM MP into the root zone of weeds
for prccmergenec control.
Ibis product may be applied on non~mp sites that contain arcs of temporary
surface water wuxd by collection of water in equipment tuts, or in other de-
pressions created by management activities. It is permissible m vest intermittent
drainage, intermittently flooded low lying sites, seasonal dry-flood plains and
transinonal areas between upland and lowland sites whin nu water is present. It
is also permissible to treat marshes, swamps and bogs after water has receded,
as well as seasonally dry flood delms. DO NOT make applications to natural or
man-made bodies of water such as lakes, reservoirs, ponds, streams and canals.
A drift control agent may be used at the manufacturer's recommcnded tale in the
t application of LANDMARKTM MP.
LANDMARK"" MP is noncorrosive, nonflammable, nonvoladlc antl does not
freeze.
For best postemergence results, apphy LANDMARKTM MP to-young, actively
growing weeds. The degree and dumvon of control may depend on the following:
• weed spectrum and infrsmtion intensity
• weed sic at application
• environmental conditions at and following treatment
. soil pH, soil moisture, and soil organic matter
Note:
Do not exceed a rate of a 22.5 ounce LANDMARKTM MP unit pack per 2.5 acres
per year (q.0 ounces of product per acre per year).
Do not use on food ar feed crops.
Do not enter or afiow others m enter the treamd area until sprays have dried.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDJTJONS AND BIOLOGJCAL ACTJYJTY
When applied as a spiny, LANDMARKTM MP 3s absorbed by both the roots and
foliage of plants, rapidly inhibiting the growth of suxepdblt weeds. When applied
on dry fertilizer, LANDMARKTM MP is absorbed primarily by the roots. Two
m three weeks after application m weeds, plant growth slows, and the growing
points tutu reddish-purple. Within 4 m 6 weeks of application, leaf veins and
leaves become dixolored, and the growing points subsequendy die.
Warm, moist conditions following appiica[ion accelerate the herticidal activity
of LANDMARKTM MP; cold,. dry conditions delay the herbicidal activity. In
addidon, weeds hardened-off by draught stress arc less susceptible to LAND-
MARKTM MP. Moisture is nttded m move LANDMARK'"' MP into dre soil far
prcemergenee weld control.
RESISTANCE
When herbicides that affect the same biological site of action arc used repeatedly
over several years to control the same weed species io the same field, natumlly-
occutring resismnt biotypes may survive a correctly applied herbicMe treatment,
propagate, and become dominant in that field. Adequate control of dlese resistant
weed bio[ypes cannot be expected. if weed control is unsafisfactary, it may be
necessary to reveal nc~ problem area using a product affecting a different site of
action.
To better manage herticide resistance through delaying the proliferation and
possible dominance of herbicide resistant weed biotypes, it may be necessary
m change culmml practices within and between crop seasons such as using a
combination of dllage, retreatmrnS tank-mix partners and/or uquential herbicide
applications that have a different site of action. Weed escapes that arc allowed m
go to seed will promote the spread of raistanr biotypa.
It is advisable m keep accumm records of pesticides applied to individual fields m
help obtain information an the spread and dispersal of resistant biotypes. Consult
your agricultural dealer, consultant, applicator, and/or appropriate emu agricui-
tum) exunsion service representative for specific alternative culmm) practices or
herbicide recommendations available in your area.
INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT
This product may be used as part of an Integrated-Pest Managemrnt (IPM)
program [hat can include biological, cultural, and genetic practices aimed at
preventing economic pest damage, IPM principles and practices include field
xouting or othtt tletecdon methods, correct target pest identificafion, population
monitoring, and treating when target pest populations reach locally determined.
action thresholds. Consult your state cooperative extension service, professional
consultants or other qualified authorities m determine appropriate salon treamten[
threshold levels for vesting specific pest/crop systems in your area,
