It is capable <br />of producing 230 board feet of timber per acre from a fully stocked, <br />even-aged stand of 40 year old trees. <br />Some areas of this unit are used for livestock grazing. It <br />provides shelter and forage where access to these areas is available. <br />This unit has a definite recreation potential. Wildlife popula- <br />tions are abundant and the nearness to the river make these areas <br />available to rafting end canoeing enthusiasts. <br />Wildlife abound in this vegetative habitat. Mule deer, cotton- <br />tail rabbits, coyotes, bobcats, ducks, geese, and other native birds <br />are woll adnptod and use the native vegetation for food and shelter. <br />W}rer,~ it is feasible, dr.velopment of food plots, tree and shrub <br />' planting, and establishment of nesting cover would enhance the habitat <br />for upland game. <br />In areas of perennial high water table, open water may be <br />developed by blasting or heavy equipment for water fowl usage and <br />fish ponds. <br />Corrmunrity dr;velopment is very limited on this unit.
