GP7 and GMP-1 Which are completed in the HI aquifer, and backfill ~~
wells GF5 and GF7, were used in the development c~f this map. Wells
i
GF5 and GF7 are completed in the backfill in thy: area where the H
and I coal seams we i e mined. Flow in the HI aquifer has been
changed mainly at the A, B, C, D and E pits. The overall flow
regime in this aquifer is close to that obse:-ved in 1990 (see
Hydro-Engineering, 1991). The ground-water gre~dient between the
backfill aquifer an3 the unmined HI aquifez downgradient is
relatively flat as it is in the QR backfill. '!.'he main change in
the HI contours is near the active A pit in the Pyeatt drainage.
The Third White Sandstone aquifer water-le~~el elevations are
presented on Map No. 2-3. Wells GB2, GC2, GE3, P8, 81-03a and GP9
were used in the development of this map. Flow direction in the
Third White Sandstone is mainly toward the north, as expected.
Additional data from ,wells GE3 and 81-03a indicate that the Third
White Sandstone water flows toward the west between these two wells
and probably toward a dishcarge to an adjacent aquifer or to the
surface.
.J
2-16
