SOUTH CHIEFTAIN - Jefferson County
EXHIBIT D -(Continued)
Soils: The surface layer is grayish brown cobbly clay loam
about six inches thick. The subsoil is grayish brown clay about
two feet thick. The underlying layer is light yellowish brown
clay extending to a depth of five feet or more. Clay shale is
interbedded at depths of 20 to 40 inches, In some areas this soil
is well drained and in other areas the surface runoff is rapid
and water erosion high.
EXHIBIT E - Reclamation Plan
We will continue to use the__t soil as fill as we advance
with the pit and let the are return t its native state of grazing
land until the mining operati ce s. Total acreage to reclaim
will be determined at that time. We will follow the recommendation
by the Soil Conservation Service sloping the areas to 3:1 or
flatter and leave slopes rough enough to hold top soil and water
where possible for revegetation purposes,
The following seed mixture was recommended by the Soil Conser-
vation Service.
Type Of Plant
Western Wheat "Barton"
Pubescent Wheat "Luna"
Crested Wheat "Nordan"
Bulk Seed per Acre
4.8 lbs.
5.4 lbs.
4.0 lbs.
The bulk seed per acre should be doubled when Broadcasting.
A high nitrogen and high phosphorous fertilizer will be used to
promote plant growth.
When the mining operation ceases most of the land will have
been reclaimed as we advanced with the pit.
We have no future land use plan because this property is owned
by the Rooney Estate and we only have a perpetual lease to mine clay.
EXHIBIT F - Proof of Local Government Approval
See letter attached from Jefferson County Planning Director,
EXHIBIT G - Source of Legal Ri4ht to Enter
See Notarized letter attached.
- 2 -
