We began drafting a plan and schedule to repair Refuse Ditch No. 1, along with other
maintenance concerns, while on site.
Energy Fuels discussed our intended plans for ditch repair during your phone call to us the
afternoon of on August 30, 1995, following your partial inspection at Raton Creek. We discussed
our intentions to reconstruct the ditch exceeding the approved design, and a tentative schedule for
wmpleting the work.
Energy Fuels proposes to reshape and armor Refuse Ditch No. i from the pond inlet for a distance
of approximately 4S0 feet. The ditch will be configured as a trapezoidal ditch, with a 2 foot bottom
width and 2v:lh sideslopes. The ditch wiU be lined with 9 inch thick Reno Mattresses containing 3-
6 inch diameter river rock. Where the ditch enters the pond, the last section of mattress will be
keyed or similarly anchored-to the-existing bedrock. _
Based on t#-e scope of work, availability of materials, and preliminary indications of wntractor
availability, Energy Fuels estimates thaE the work will require 45 days to complete. Please contact
me if you have any questions or require additional information.
Sincerely,
Energy Fuels Mining Company
Allen S.
