NMD (Panels 12 Right through 16 Right)(PR 99-OS) <br />Twentymile coal Company will continue to mine the reserves it controls in the Twentymile Park Basin. The mine <br />will move its operation into the Northem Mining District as shown on Map 23, Mine Plan Map. TCC controls all <br />of the coal required to mine in this area. TCC projects annual coal production a[ 10 million tons per year. <br />TCC uses [he longwall mining method as the primary technique for ensuring maximum recovery of the resource. It <br />is planned [o install a 1000' wide face and panel length ranging from approximately 13,600' to 17,000' in the <br />Northern Mining district during this permit term. The gateroads, main and submains will be developed by <br />continuous miner, as is the current practice. <br />NMD -14 Right Gateroad Alternate Location (MR 01-171) <br />Currently, TCC is in the process of evaluating if the 1000' wide face can be increased to approximately 1200' or <br />wider. The outcome of the evaluation may limit the face width to something less than 1200'. In order to <br />accommodate this uncertainty, and initiate the start of the gateroad, an area is shown in red on Map 23 and 23 B for <br />potential area in which the 14 Right Gateroad will be started. in the event that the evaluation determines that the <br />1000' wide face is the correct width for TCC's conditions then the location of the gateroad shown on Map 23 and <br />23 B will be followed. <br />(2) Operation description. A Qeneral description and appropriate map(s), prepared in accordance with <br />2.10, describing the area of land to be affected over the life of operation, according to the anticipated sequence of <br />mining and reclamation, and identifying each area of land for which it is anticipated a new, separate, five-year <br />permit will be obtained and a performance bond will be posted throuehout the operation and any than eg in a <br />facility or feature shown under 2.10 which would result from the proposed operations. <br />RESPONSE <br />The general operation plan for the Foidel Creek Mine is shown on Map 23. Mine Plan. This map shows the <br />planned schedule for the mine advance. <br />RESPONSE <br />Federal Lease COC-54608, with an effective date of February I, 1996, was issued by the BLM to Cyprus Western <br />Coal Company, which completed federal leasing activities for the EMD. Fee coal was purchased from Chevron, <br />Kenneth and Ethel Ashley, Earl Andis and Paul Swisher for the majority of the fee coal located within the EMD. <br />Twentymile Coal Company holds ownership of the coal located in the E/2 of section 22, <br /> <br />.~a~. „ , ,._ , <br />MR 01-171 2.05-2.1 02/19/01 <br />
