from the drilling containing cuttings will be passed through the mud pits before being discharged from the site.
After the hole is completed, it will be logged and then grouted from the bottom to within three feet of the surface.
• Apiece of rubber hose will be placed in the top three feet and slightly extend from the ground to serve as a marker.
The required abandonment report will be submitted within 60 days to the Division.
The reclamation bond for this activity can be found in Appendix A, Volume~A.
Twentymile Coal Company (TCC) does not plan to conduct underground coal mining operations within the Fish
Creek Tipple permit area.
In order to study the possible effects of surface subsidence from longwall mining on the bases of lattice-type
electric transmission towers, two test sites will be developed overlying the 1st southwest panel. Each site will
consist of four buried concrete pilings, 18 inches in diameter by 15 to 20 deep. Each piling will have a survey
mazker placed in the top in order to measure any settlement caused by surface subsidence.
The sites will be accessed through an existing gate. The drill rig will use an existing trail to the extent possible and
then take the shortest route to the sites. The location of the sites is shown on Foidel Creek Mine Map 40,
Subsidence Monitoring Status Map. The holes will be drilled by an auger. Cuttings from the holes will be raked
back from the holes and scattered over the site. In mid-1995, at the conclusion of the study, the site will be
excavated to allow removal of the pilings to a depth of three feet below the surface. Topsoil will be removed from
the sites and temporarily stockpiled prior to excavation. After removal of the upper portion of the pilings, the sites
will be backfilled, regraded, retopsoiled, and seeded with the appropriate seed mixture.
The reclamation bond for this activity can be found on page 2.05-54(f)(40) of the permit.
A development drilling hole is planned for 1994 and its location is shown on Figure 7A, 1994 Development Drill Hole
• Location. The hole will be approximately 1100 feet depth and 6 1/4 inches in diameter.
An existing ranch road will be used as part of the access into the site. The existing ranch road, as shown on Figure 7A,
will tie into the access road leading into the site. The exact location will depend upon field conditions and survey
control.
In reference to the new access road into the site, it is planned not to strip topsoil unless ground conditions dictate this be
done. If excessive rutting will occur then the topsoil, approx'unately 2 feet th depth, will be bladed to either side of the
road. Once the site is reclaimed the topsoil will be bladed back over the road and seeded with the appropriate seed
mixture.
The drill site will be approximately 100 X 100 'and will have the topsoil stripped from it. The topsoil will be
stockpiled adjacent to the site and signed. Once the site is reclaimed the topsoil will be redistributed over the site and
seeded with the appropriate seed mixture.
A ditch will be inscribed above the drill pad and will divert upland flow away from the pad. if the topsoil stockpile is
located upslope of the pad the diversion ditch will be inscribed above the stockpile. The ditch will minimize the
amount of precipitation that falls on the pad, and the ditch and the small size of the pad will provide sediment control
for the site.
After topsoil has been salvaged from the site, the site will be leveled as necessary, and mud pits will be dug within the
boundary of the site. The material excavated from the pits will be placed adjacent to the pit within the boundary of the
site. After drilling ceases the pits, once suitably dry, will be backfilled with the material excavated from them. A trash
pit may be dug on the site, or an existing mud pit may be used to collect trash, such as paper, cans, cardboard,

L L~~ I~t ~. ~.t
Permit Renewal No. 3 2.05-15 I V 1199
