(Cont`d.) <br />(3) (b) (i) (Cont'd.) <br />Storm run-off is basically generated in four <br />zones of the Orchard Valley Mine site. As <br />shown in Figure 2.05-9 in the Surface Drainage <br />Appendix, Volume 8, Zone 1 lies on the west <br />side of the lower diversion basin. The drain- <br />age area includes the portal level area, the <br />fan level access road, and around the ware- <br />house level. Run-off from this area is dis- <br />charged at Node 1. Zone 2 includes the fan <br />level and is discharged at Node 7. 7.one 3 in- <br />cludes an area east of [he portal level and <br />[hat area above the old Converse Mine portals. <br />Run-off is discharged at Node 10. Zone 4 gen- <br />erates water from the remainder of the water- <br />shed, including the crushing and screening <br />level, and is discharged at various locations <br />into the natural channel downstream. Table <br />2.05-5 shows a summary of design discharges <br />for mine site drainage.
