Section 780.18(b) Continued.
Revegetation will commence as soon as the topsoil has been
redistributed and prepared for seeding. As shown on Map 32, Kerr
Mine Area Soil Redistribution and Revegetation, the general
timetable for reseeding will progress with revegetation of Pit 1 and
the 720 Pit beginning in 1991. Reclamation of Pit 1 was projected
for completion in 1994-1495. However, reconfiguration of Pit 1 as
designated by the mutual agreement ("The Agreement") between OSM,
CDMG and Kerr generated Technical Revision 13 (TR-13) which is
depicted on Map 37B, 3rd revision, "Pit 1 Supplemental Backfill &
Grading Plan". Soil redistribution and preparation and seeding of
the approved cover crop will be expedited in the first, favorable
autumn planting season. The approved perennial seed mix (shrubs,
forbes, and grasses) will be seeded the -following ~a11 planting
season after the cover crop.
Reclamation of the 720 Pit Area previously projected to require 9
to 10 years for completion was actually completed in 1994-1995,
cover crop and perennials seeding respectively.
Revegetation of Light-Use Roads is projected as follows: Following
approval of the road widening request, Minor Revision 29 (MR-29),
the revised/untraveled portion of roadway shall have topsoil
replaced, the soil prepared for seeding, and the approved cover crop
seeded during the first, favorable autumn planting season. The soil
and seeding shall border the 30 foot roadway/corridor. During the
next following autumn favorable planting season, the approved
perennial seed mix of shrubs, forbes, and grasses will be seeded.
~ ~~~ a~
780-62bb Revised December, 1995
c:\wa~ocs\aut-zs Qp~R ® ~~~ .(r~.J 1 ~ }qQS
