they will be gouted from the bottom to the top to stabilize them in the hole. In order to hang the power cables in <br />the holes, a steel structure will be constructed over two or three of the cased holes (the additional holes borings aze <br />discussed in the following paragaph). The structure wilt consist of steel beams supported on legs bolted to a <br />concrete footer. The beams will be either 10 (up to three) or 14 (one each) feet in length, and the legs will be <br />approximately 6.5 or 8 feet high. The footers will be approximately 4 x 4 x 4 feet. The 14-foot beam structures <br />will be placed over the 24-inch borehole. Also, a 7 x 10 x 0.3 foot pad will be poured around the 24-inch borehole. <br />The ] 0-foot beam structures will be placed over the 6-inch diameter borings. A 7 x 6 x 0.3 foot pad will be poured <br />azound these borings. <br />As part of the utility installation described above, TCC will advance up to three additional 6-inch cased borings at <br />the existing NMD Power Borehole. This is required due to problems encountered in gouting the casings as <br />approved in TR 00-37. These borings will be located on the same pad as the NMD Power Borehole, as they will <br />terminate in the same entry undergound as the NMD Power Borehole. During boring of the holes, the existing <br />mud pit will be utilized, although it will require that it be dug out and reestablished at the site. It is in the same <br />location as it was originally located. When the borings are completed, the pit will be backfilled and the pad gaded <br />as previously described. <br />6-North Mains Substation No. 14 (MROS-2011 <br />The proposed substation installation will consist of six concrete pads, including five designed to support <br />transformers. The sixth pad will be a foundation fora 14 x 30 foot prefabricated metal building, containing <br />electrical controllers and switch-geaz. A buried ground-bed, adjacent to the substation will complete the substation <br />installation. The proposed substation will be enclosed by a 120 x 110 foot, 8-foot high chain-link fence. The <br />substation location is shown on Map 24. Substation details and a materials list, are included in Exhibit 49E. <br />It is important to note that TROS-48 (6-North Mains Shaft and Associated Ancillary Equipment and Facilities) <br />addresses the construction, operation, and reclamation of the 6-North Mains ventilation shaft and associated <br />• ancillary equipment and facilities for TCC's Northern Mining District. TROS-4$ addresses road construction, <br />extension of a 69Kv power-distribution line from the existing substation at the Northwest Mains ventilation shaft, <br />construction of the ventilation shaft and utilities pad, shaft boring and lining operations, and the potential associated <br />impacts and controUmitigation/reclamation measures. Details for the undergound utility components for the 6- <br />North Mains shaft and Substation No. 14 are addressed in both the TROS-48 and MROS-198 (6-North Mains Utility <br />Boreholes) submittals, and are shown on the related Maps 23, and EX16E-M1 and M2. <br />Mine Water Recvclin8 Svstem -Fish Creek Borehole (MR 02-1791 <br />TCC is planning to construct a mine water recycling line from the Fish Creek t3orehote ponds that will tie into the <br />Escape Shaft and 10-Right undergound waterline. The location of the line and associated facilities is shown on <br />Map 24, Surface Facilities. The water line will further improve TCC's mine water recycling program and minimize <br />the volume of water that has to be imported from outside the mine for dust control . <br />Installation of the recycling system will require the following activities: 1) Installation of a pumping system at Fish <br />Creek Borehole facility, 2) Electrical and control system modifications, 3) Installation of a waterline from the <br />western settling cell to the Escape Shaft and 10-Right waterline, 4) tie-in of the waterline from the pond to the <br />escape shaft and ]0-Right waterline, and 5) Installation of manholes along the waterline for installing "T's" for <br />stock-tank feeds. <br />Installation of the pumping system will require construction of a concrete pad as a foundation for the pump and <br />control building. The pad will slope towards the cell, or a drain pipe maybe installed, so that any runoff from the <br />pad will drain to the cell. A suction line from the pump will be placed in the western settling cell for pumping of <br />the water up to the Escape Shaft or 10-Right waterline. The existing water treatment system will continue to <br />function, in order to provide acceptable quality water for use in the undergound mine dust suppression system. <br />The discharge line from the pump will be placed over the cell embankment and then buried and tied-in to the <br />MR06-207 2.05-65.3 04/25/06 <br />
