• underground or surface source of water within the proposed permit <br />area aad adjacent areas for domestic, agricultural, industrial, flah <br />and wildlife. or other legitimate use. If contamination, diminution, or <br />interruption may result, then the description shall identify the alter- <br />native sources of water supply or sources of augmentation water that <br />could be developed to replace the existing sources. (See Article 83 <br />and 92 of Title 73 0 1973 Colorado Rivised Statutes). <br />(4) A map prepared according to the standards of 2.10 showing: <br />(a) The locations of water supply intakes. ditches, reservoirs, and <br />wells within a one mile minimum radius of the affected area, <br />current users of surface water flowing into. out of, and within a <br />hydrologic area defined by the Division, and those surface <br />waters which will receive discharges from affected areas is the <br />proposed permit area and adjacent area; <br />(b) Elevations and locations of monitoring atatioas used to gather <br />data for water quality and quantity. <br />(c) Location and extent of sub-surface water. if encountered, within <br />the proposed permit or adjacent areas, including but not limited <br />to, areal and vertical distribution of aquifers, and estimate of <br />seasonal variations of aquifer characteristics on cross sections <br />and contour maps as appropriate. <br />• (d) Location of surface water bodies such ae streams, lakes, ponds, <br />springs, constructed or natural drains, and irrigation ditches <br />within the proposed permit and adjacent areas; <br />(e) Location and dimension of existing areas of spoil, waste, and <br />noncoal waste disposal, dams, embankments, other impoundments, <br />and water treatment and air pollution control facilities within the <br />proposed permit area; <br />(f) Location, and depth, if available, of gas and oil wells within the <br />proposed permit area and water wells in the permit area sad <br />adjacent area; and <br />(g) Elevation and location of teat borings and core samplings. <br />(5) Permit dpplicationa may comply with the requirement of 2.04.7(4) (c} <br />and 2.04.T(2)(a) and (b) regarding the seasonal variability of surface <br />and ground water quality and quantity without the collection of data <br />covering 12 consecutive months if accurate statistical procedures. <br />approved by the Division, are used to extrapolate from a data base <br />covering a shorter period of time. <br /> RESPONSE <br /> The Hayden Gulch Mine's proposed permit area encompasses two <br />• 'affected areas which are linked by Routt-County Road 53. The <br /> <br />locations of these affected areas are identified on Exhibit BB, <br />(Exhibits Volume II) . The actual mine pit, ancilliary facilities <br />
