Mount
Mined Land Reclamation Division
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, CO 80'l03
Re: Bear Coal Company;
Permit C-81-033
Dear Mr. Mount:
On a recent inspection of the Bear No. 3 Mine you noted that
Bear had placed a stockpile of bulk rock dust, "beet pulp", near
the coal loadout bin. You requested that a sample of this mate-
rial be analyzed for pH. Grand Junction Laboratories analyzed a
grab sample of the material. The grab sample had a pH of 8.05.
This material should not pose any problem to future reclamation
operations or to potential contamination of the water in the
alluvium with regard to pH. Enclosed is a copy of the lab re-
port.
Please let me know if you need any further action regarding
this stockpile.
Sincerely,
Jim Stover, P.E.
Consulting Engineer
cc: W.
