EXHIBIT G -WATER INFORMATION
The information provided in this Section is intended to satisfy the requirements outlined in
Section 6.4.7 of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Boazd's Construction Material Rules and
Regulations.
(a) Locate on the map (Exhibit ~ tributary water courses, wells, springs, stock water ponds,
reservoirs and ditches
The proposed mining operation is located in the south one-half of Section 9, Township 2
South, Range 67 West of the Sixth Principal Meridian in Adams County. The site is located
north of 104` Avenue between the South Platte River and Fulton Ditch. The operation will
consist of sand and gravel production. The operation will impact the South Platte River in
the forrtt of depletions due to evaporation and operational losses associated with mining.
These impacts can be mitigated without injury to the vested senior rights downstream of the
site.
The project will create a lined reservoir with approximately 120 acres of exposed surface at
reclamation. The reclamation plan will leave one reservoir that will be hydraulically
disconnected from the alluvial aquifer through the use of a slurry wall which will be
constructed prior to mining. Although a slurry wall will be constmcted around the perimeter
of the site prior to mining, the State Engineer's Office will still consider the site as a well that
intercepts ground water until the slurry wall is accepted as meeting the State's lining criteria.
A substitute supply plan for the replacement of stream depletions during the mining phase
will be submitted to the State Engineer's Office. The length of time for the completion of the
project is estimated at 7 years.
Please also refer to:
• the attached letter regazding the well inventory from Tetra Tech RMC to Mike Refer
(more specifically "Table 1-A: Wells within 600' of Proposed Mine" and "Water
Supply Wells and Monitoring Wells for the Hazeltine Aggregate Mine" map) for a
list and locations of adjacent wells and well owners within 600' and
• the Existing Conditions and Mining Plan Maps in Exhibit C for the location of the
water courses in the immediate vicinity of the site.
(b) Identify all known aquifers
The Upper Arapahoe Aquifer is under this property (George VanSlyke, et. A. 1988, Geologic
Structure, Sandstone/Siltstone Isolith, and Location ofNon-Tributary Ground Water for
Arapahoe Aquifer, Denver Basin, Colorado. Denver Basin Atlas No. 3, DBA-3. Colorado
Division of Water Resources, Office of the State Engineer.)
(c) Show how water from dewatering operations or runoff from disturbed areas, piled material and
operating surfaces will be managed to protect against pollution of either surface or groundwater
both during and after the operation
Water use at the site will include evaporation from the dewatering trenches, water retained in
AGGREGATE INDUSTRIES - HAZELTINE MINE MLRB 112 PERMIT
