Discussion of Effluent Limitations
a. Oil and Grease. The Relations for Effluent Limitations (Regulation No. 61) include effluent limitations that apply
to all discharges ojwastewater to State waters. These regularions are applicable to the discharge from the Trapper
Mine WWTF. The Oil and Grease concentrations from the Regulations for Effluent Limitatons are the most
stringent effluent limits and are therefore applied.
b. ~ -This parameter is limited by Water Quality Standards (WQS) as the WQS of 6.5-9.0 s.u. range are more
stringent than those specked under the Relations for Effuent Limitations . Previously, the upper limit was set at
9.5 s. u. for outfa/ls 001, 001, and 005, however it has been shown that these outfalls can meet the WQS so the upper
limits for all outfalls will 6e 9.0 s. u.
c. Applicable Federal Elfluent Guidelines and Standards: The federal guidelines which apply to this type offacility
are found under 40 CFR 434, titled Coal Mining Point Source Effluent Guidelines. The limitations which apply are:
Lair xew;s~: 3nznoo4
