Box 3700
Loveland, CO 80539-3003
AUG 1 0 2006
Mr. Nelson Selcer
Jackson County
Road & Bridge Department
Walden, CO 80480
Dear Mr. Selcer:
This is in response to the proposed construction of a gravel pit near Western Area Power
Administration's (Western) easement for the Ault-Craig 345-kV Transmission Line in the NE'/a
Section 32, Township 8 North, Range 81 West.
Western's 175 foot transmission line easement is authorized from the Bureau of Land Management
(BLM) under permit COC-022720. Western is not the land owner upon which the easement is
located, but merely has a right to use the land for transmission line proposes. The construction of a
gravel pit 100 feet from centerline of the easement is acceptable provided you obtain the proper
authorization from the underlying landowner, the BLM.
Western concurs that the mining and reclamation activities, as proposed, will have no negative effect
on the Ault-Craig 345-kV transmission line.
Finally, if you plan on conducting any sand and gravel activities near our transmission line, we
request that you coordinate those activities with Western to insure that the mining activity is
conducted in a safe manor and to ensure that access to Western's structures is not impaired.
If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Laycee Edkins at (970)461-7654.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
~~
Ruthette Kennedy
Realty Specialist
