PART I
C. FOOTNOTES
1/ - When the most sensitive analytical method which complies with Part
I.F.2, of the permit has a detection limit greater than or equal to
the permit limit, the permittee shall report "leas than the
detectable limit," as appropriate. Such reports shall not be
considered as violations of the permit limit.
The present lowest method detection limits for specific parameters
(which have limitations which are, in some cases, less than or equal
to the detection limit) are as follows:
Total Residual Chlorine 0.05 mg/1
Potentially Dissolved Cadmium 0.0003 mg/1
Potentially Dissolved Copper 0.005 mg/1
Potentially Dissolved Lead 0.005 mg/1
Total Mercury 0.00025 mg/1
Potentially Dissolved Nickel 0.05 mg/1
Potentially Dissolved Silver 0.0002 mgll
Potentially Dissolved Zinc 0.05 mg/1
m/ - Fecal coliform bacteria average concentrations shall be determined by
the geometric mean of all samples coller_ted during a thirty (30)
consecutive day period. The 7 day average shall be determined by the
geometric mean of all samples taken durin<a a seven (7) day period.
n/ The potentially dissolved metal fraction is defined in The Basic
Standards and Methodologies for Surface Water 3.1.0 (5 CCR 1002-8)
as: that portion of a constituent measured from the filtrate of a
water and suspended sediment sample that was first treated with
nitric acid to a pH fo 2 or less and let stand for 8 to 96 hours
prior to sample filtration using a 0.4 or 0.45-UM membrane filter.
Note the "potentially dissolved" method cannot be used where nitric
acid will interfere with the analytical procedure used for the
constituent measured.
o/ There shall be no acute toxicity in the effluent from this discharge
point. The acute toxicity limitation is exceeded if 1) a
statistically significant difference in mortality (at the 95%
confidence level) is observed for either species between the control
and any dilution less than or equal to the identified IWC or 2) a
species mortality in any dilution of effluent (including 100Y.
effluent) exceeds SO~G.
Corrected U3/16/92
