The cut
slope was evaluated as a shghdv sand}' clan. The sod properties and strength data shown on Table l
were used in the anaksis.
The anahsts was conducted assurmng thece were no springs or seeps in the area. If springs or seeps
are encountered during construction a new analyses my be required.
The parameters described above were input into the XSTABL program to evaluate stability and static
safety factors for the Haul Road D cut and fill slopes. The accompanying XSTABL printouts document
input parameters and analysis calculations and results.
2.0 RESULTS
Using the described inputs, the stabthn' analyses indicates a static FOS of 2.1 and 2.6 for the cut and
fill slopes respectively. The XSTABL computer printouts located in Appendix ,~, document all
• inputs and stabiGn' analrsis results.
3.0 RECOMMENDATIONS
In order to achieve the design paramerers, it is recommended that the steep portions oC the haul road
be constructed according to the recommendations Cound in Attachment 13-5, Geotectnical
Investieauon, Haul Roads Y-A and Y-B and sedimentation Pond 010, Yoast Mine.
4.0 REFERENCES

Leidich, Tom (1998).
