1

Inspection Procedures
Inspection procedures and inspection report forms have been developed for the areas
' covered in this plan. Visual walk-through examination is made of the facility on a daily
basis; however, documented inspections are only performed monthly. Locked valves and
shutoffs are checked each night at closing time.
' Diesel Tanks and Associated Pump Island -
' The external parts of each tank are visuall}' inspected during normal operations and the
inspections are documented once a month. This inspection includes observations of the
tank surfaces, pant, roof vent, seams, support, gauges, valves, associated piping, and
' secondary containment. Tank testing of shell thickness will be conducted by non-
destructive means at a five (5) to ten (10) yeaz interval. Interior parts of the tanks are
checked when tank cleaning becomes necessary. Inspection reports are kept on file at the
' facility for at least three (3) years.
The dispensing pump inspection is conducted concurrently with the diesel tank
' inspection. Included in the inspection is a visual assessment of the condition of the pump
station, hoses, valves, and associated piping. When an underground pipeline section is
exposed during routine repairs or maintenance, it is examined, and corrective action is
' taken as necessary.
See Attachment # l for a copy of the inspection form for the tank and the pump.
' Vehicle Maintenance Shop and Used Oil Tank -
' The external parts of each drum, tank. or container are visually inspected during normal
operations and the inspection is documented once a month. This inspection includes
observations of the tank or container surfaces, paint, seams, support, valves, and
' secondary contaitunent. Tank testing of shell thickness will be conducted by
nondestructive means at a five (5) to ten (10) year interval. The tank interior is checked
when tank cleaning becomes necessary. Inspection reports are kept on file at the facility
for at least three (3) years.
t See Attachment #2 for a copy of the inspection form for the vehicle maintenance shop
and waste oil tank.

1
19
