f~.
4
PHONE 411'C 71C
November 20, 1979
James B. McArdle
Mined Land Reclamation
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, Colorado 80004
NOV 261979
•,., ~-
Re: Suburban Sand & Gravel Co.
Road Runners Rest II
Your File No. 79-195
Dear Jim:
We answer your November 13 letter by the numbers as set out in that letter.
A. 1. Our best estimate aC this time is spring 1980.
2. While one or two houses are within 200 feet of the affected land line,
no house is within 200 feet of the excavation line. Please refer to
map Exhibit D-1. This, of course, does not include house located on
the affected land and owned by Suburban.
3. Please refer to map Exhibit D-1. Setback is that distance which we
must move inward from the property line. The small amount of material
necessary to resoil the cut slopes above the water will be stored on
this area. A unit length of setback must be able to hold a unit length
of slope 1 foot deep in soil, thus a slope of 32 feet unit length
1 foot deep would be 32 ft. 3. A setback of 20 feet unit length would
have to be piled 1.6 feet deep to hold the necessary amounts to resoil
the slope discussed. Any excess over this amount is a waste.
4. Yes - see page 7, line 5.
B. 1. We expect to resoil stripped lands above water with between 10 and 14
inches of existing topsoil.
2. Yes - thank you.
3. Yes - please refer to page 17. We appreciate your suggestion for
trees and shrubs as well as your ideas for planting and watering.
4. Yes.
5. Except for about 5 acres in the southeast corner closest to Brighton
Road, we believe the entire property is in the 100-year flood plain.
I believe a map showing the 100-year flood plain can be obtained
from the Division of Water Resources in your building.
6. We feel that a 100-foot buffer is sufficient when the river is at an
attack angle and that 75 feet is enough when it is not. Our plan is
to create some gentle elevation increases along the river (see Map D-1)
at critical locations and to rip rap with large size cobble in those
locations.
• SU ~II IIIIIIIII"IIIII D61-MIX
~ Sand and Gravel Co.
ROY f.
