This unit occurs mainly along
1 the Gunnison and Colorado Rivers within the survey
area. It is a practical classification
based on Limitations of the soils, the risk of damage
' when they are used, and the way they respond to
treatment. The soils are classified according to
degree and kind of permanent limitation, but without
' consideration of major and generally expensive
landforming that would change the slope, depth, or
other characteristics of the soils; without
consideration of possible unlikely major reclamation
1 projects.
Class VIII - Not suited for cultivation, range, pasture
' or woodland. Suited only for recreation, wildlife,
water supply or esthetic purposes.
W - Excessive water such as wetness, overflow, or high
1 water table.
1
1
1
1
1
1
