' EXHIBIT D — MINING PLAN
Overview
The applicant proposes to develop the site north of the Arkansas River (North
Mining Area) for sand and gravel mining and processing and batching of asphalt.
' This area will disturb approximately 143 acres, including topsoil stockpile areas.
' South of the river, a smaller area (South Borrow Pit Area) will be utilized as a
' borrow pit site encompassing approximately 30 acres, including an overburden
storage berm. The South Borrow Pit Area also includes approximately 12 acres V1 Of
' of ground previously disturbed (overburden removal and excavation) by a former
owner. A total of approximately 173 acres of the total 275.45 acres of the permit
area will be disturbed (see Exhibit C).
' Mine Plan
The area north of the Arkansas River (North Mining Area) will be mined in five
Phases encompassing a total of approximately 142 acres. The Phases range in
size from 16 acres to 49 acres and are based on convenient and logical property
boundaries, as all mining Phases will ultimately mine-out a single, homogenous
excavation area resulting in a 142-acre lake (see Exhibit C and F). Mining in the
' North Mining Area will disturb less than two acres per year, with approximately
' three to five acres of total disturbance at any given time, as the total anticipated
utilization of aggregate will entail only 50,000 tons per year. Reclamation__ will be -
' concurrent with mining.
