This project will
temporarily displace wildlife from the areas directly affected. The
' extent of the permanent impact will depend on the success of reclamation.
The grassland habitat is generally less critical than the shrub stands
surrounding it.
1
Mine Reclamation recxmumdations (include key species/habitata for which restoration is
signed).
Because of the large area nronosed for mining, we suqqest that reclama-
tion take place as the project progresses, therebv limiting the distur-
bance area to the smallest possible acreage. Reclamation /reseedinq activi-
ties should be monitored to determine success.
Reseeding with a mixture of native grasses is recommended. Snowberry
stands should be re- established. Control of undesirable species (espec-
ially knaoweed) in the reclamation area should be accomplished. Disturbance
of shrubs on the side slopes should be minimized.
Date: — (
Submitted Date:
is statement is v not processed withijn 1 year.
is analysis does not constitute approval of application.
