The permit area is not prone to flooding from adjoining properties. Two predominant
drainage courses found in the vicinity of the site are: Cottonwood Gulch, which adjoins the
permit boundary and the Elk River approximately 0.25 miles east of the site. Drainage
calculations indicate that the existing culvert under CR- 62A adjacent to the site will
discharge 120 cubic feet per second, flowing full with maximum headwater depth of 5.13
feet from Cottonwood Gulch. Gravel extraction activities are separated from the gulch by
an undisturbed 25 foot minimum buffer strip. A review of the Flood Rate Insurance Map
indicates that the site is not prone to flooding by the Elk River.
~--
~
]
,
]266
~__
N
S_
>~S6
15>
~
ZONE A
28 ~~
s
I ~
~ R
ELX RNER
V
1
I
>22 ~>s
i
T U U 225
c
I
S~TG ~
R
5
22
l~
~
~_
1220 -~
P O
_ O RM 3
>2 8 A
~O
O
N ZONE AE
.y >2pp
]~95 N Grmivulr

K
//
»ee K
_
'~ ]18]
/ »B J
N ]ns

G N
~>
A Reproduction from the FEMA Map
Mining is conducted in a manner that will not increase the amount of surtace storm water
runoff above historic flows.
