Exhibit G CMLRB 113 Permit Application
Agile Stone Systems, Inc.
• irrigation flooding.
No high levels of toxic metals or arsenic were noted in any of the water samples. The
northwest well water sample contained expected a high sulfide content from
decomposing organic matter due to obvious stagnant water conditions. The well was not
pumped prior to sampling. During the public comment period, citizens opposing the
Agile Stone Systems proposal noted that the ranch may contain toxic metals or uranium
contamination from past mining on the site. No evidence of uranium ore or past mining
of metallic minerals is evident anywhere on the site. Field work by an independent
contractor (Azurite, Inc. 10/97) confirmed this conclusion.
"Water quality analysis results from the Tallahassee area in the 1980's (CDH-WQCD 3-
28-80 correspondence, Uranium Limitations-Cyprus Mines Corp. NPDES Permit) and
Arkansaz River Basin Water Quality Records from 1981-1982 note naturally dissolved
uranium contents of between 15-17 ug/1 and higher at sample points upstream near
Cottonwood Creek. These naturally occumng uranium levels are undoubtedly from
highly mineralized zones ten miles or more upstream and have nothing to do with the
geologic conditions or materials to be mined within the project boundaries. Furthermore,
Tallahassee Creek waters will not be affected in any way by gravel or granite mining
operations which might change the natural chemical conditions presently found in the
water. Concerns regarding the release of uranium or heavy metals by Agile's mining
operations are unfounded and are likely the result of incorrect association with Cyprus
Mining proposals trade a number of years ago on the upper reaches of Tallahassee
Creek."
