Amundson and Waldron: On behalf of GCC Rio Grande, Inc. (GCC Rio Grande), I am writing to provide the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology (Division) with our response to the Division's May 6, 2002 letter. We greatly appreciate the Division's cazeful and detailed review of our January 18, 2002 mining and reclamafion permit application. As you know, we have been working closely with a team of technical consultants in the development of astate-of--the-art approach to mining and reclamation at our Pueblo facility. As a result of the technical revisions we aze proposing as a result of the dialogue we have had with the Division, we believe that our permit application and mining and reclamation plans have been greatly enhanced and that as a result, the Department and the public will also have a greater understanding of our operations. Below is a narrative summary of the technical revisions we propose be made to GCC Rio Grande's permit application, in response to the Division's and public comments. Reference to the page number of the Division's adequacy determination is provided before each numbered comment. isosoo:~}
