The top soild layer will need to be removed and <br />stockpiled prior to extension of the pit operations. <br />2. ideally, all bank slopes should be shaped and craded <br />to 3:1 or flatter. Gn this site natural slopes ore <br />6-15;K and all banks sriould be sloped to 6~ prior to <br />seeding. Any boundary slopes that exceed 6~ v:ill <br />need a constructed diversion terrave at the head of <br />the slope to protect the critical area while reseedinc <br />is becoming established. <br />3. The stockpiled topsoil should be uniformly applied to <br />the shaped and graded gravel pit area. <br />4. The topsoil will be tilled by discino or other <br />methods to provide oood,firm,weed free seedbed. <br />On site assistance may be needed for best recor.~m- <br />endation for soil and site condition at the time of <br />reclamation. <br />5. The area should be seeded to hybrid sorohum across the <br />slope at a rate of 6-10 pounds per acre, from June 1 <br />to July 15. Sorchum stubble residue should be left on <br />the sii.e for late fail grass seeding. <br />6. Grass seeding operations are to be done in late fall <br />to early spring, November 1 to hiay 1. <br />7. A grass seed drill with a depth band controlled double <br />disc opener. Seed across the slope on contour if at <br />all possible. <br />8. Seed mixture - 120 <br />Species ot~iir.
