CERTIFICATION OF CONSTRUCTION
TREATMENT PONDS NUMBER 1 & 2
Treatment ponds number 1 & 2 were constructed during May 1988 as
settling ponds for the high iron content water being discharged
from the No.l Mine. The design and location of these ponds is
shown in the Permit on Exhibit D-2-5.
These ponds were constructed using a balanced cut and fill tech-
nique. The ponds were designed so that enough material was ex-
cavated from the center of the ponds to construct the embankment
around the perimeter. The ponds are not designed to be over six
feet deep and each has a capacity of approximately 0.37 acre-
feet.
To the best of my knowledge and belief these two ponds were con-
structed in accordance with the approved design and meet the
requirements of the Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land
Reclamation Division.
P
• a-
e ~
o*~l 19230 ~;~n
e
~A.
.~+ :
.o
° o a
X10
0 4,0
v
,,.
•. ~e ..~
,o
°:~ONAL Ens°~
•.a.ae
