Golden Wonder Mine <br />DRMS Mine Permit No M-1978-091 <br />Storm Water Management Plan <br />there are vegetated berms along edges of Level 6 pad. This process of <br />continued revegetation will continue through the duration of mine <br />activities. <br />• Confinement of Deadman Gulch drainage with the use of berms has kept <br />Deadman gulch flows contained within the gulch itself, and any Level 6 <br />pad stormwater flows from reaching this tributary. These berms will be <br />maintained in order to keep the stormwater pathway from the Level 6 pad <br />severed from the tributary. <br />• Waste rock pile terracing was accomplished in 1999 and continued to the <br />present. This terracing helps control any overland flow stormwater <br />energy. These terraces will be monitored for any sign of erosion and <br />maintained as mine operations progress. <br />• If needed, a toe of the waste rock limestone channel will be placed at the <br />bottom of the waste rock pile and used to capture and passively treat <br />stormwater from the face of the waste rock pile and any captured <br />stormwater routed from the Level 6 pad. . <br />ii. Materials Handling and Spill Prevention <br />The materials handled at the mine include recovered ore and waste rock. <br />The material is typically damp when obtained from the mine and produces <br />very little dust. The process of crushing and sorting is small scale. The ore <br />is crushed to cobble sized which is suitable for sorting, sacking and haulage. <br />This activity does produce some dust but is contained within the pad area <br />and has not left any aerial residue to adjacent areas, This is likely due to the <br />fact that the material does retain considerable dampness for sometime. All <br />crushing and sorting is accomplished on the pad. Any residue is therefore an <br />added layer of waste to the underlying waste rock. The rate of activity <br />typically yields one haul truck per 3- 4 working days with no greater than 5 <br />tons per haul truck. <br />Spills are prevented by maintaining equipment and vehicles in operational <br />conditions and keeping all fuels/solvents containerized, covered and <br />suspended either on pallets or within storage. There are no tanks for fluid <br />storage of any significant size on the Leve16 pad. Any spills that occur will <br />be dealt with immediately in order to prevent any non-point source of <br />contamination to stormwater. <br />The waste rock can be considered another pollutant-containing material <br />handled at the mine. The ore is typically damp when recovered and yields <br />
