Based on
information from the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) that you provided and a
conversation with a representative from CIBA-GEIGY Corporation's Eavironmmtal
Safety and Compliance Section, the Division cannot indorse use of Aqua7ine at this
time. Both the MSDS and the manufacturer do not recortrmmd Aquaune for use
in a discharging pond. The MSDS further discourages agricultural use of treated
water until after a twelve month detoxification period.
The Division suggests that you explore other possible options for dealing with the
algae problem is your settling ponds.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. If you have nay questions, please
call me at 331-1538.
sincerely,
~;
u
Anne Brlenfeldt
Industrial Enforcement Engineer
Permits and Enforcement Section
WATER QUALITY CONTROL DMSION
ce: Jim Chubrilo, D.E., Field Support Section
Paz Nelsou, WQCD
MS-3
iJ ryrord ww .m ¢bdp(v.r
