BANTA, Dlrsetor
March 29, 1988
Mr. John Monarch
Pittsburgh and Midway Coal Mining Company
6400 Fiddlers Green Circle
Englewood, Colorado 80111
Re: Fish Creek Project, CX-169-08
Dear Mr. t4onarch:
I have reviewed the information which you submitted on March 21, 1988, for the
Fish Creek Project, I have a few questions regarding this project and the
information which you submitted as follows:
1. Exhibit 2,04.7-1 includes an area enclosed by a dashed line. No
explanation is provided for this line in the legend. What does the line
represent?
2. What is the difference between alluvial wells and alluvial monitoring
wells described on Exhibit 2,04.7-1 and the legend?
3. THe completion and sealing information is for bedrock wells only.
Describe the condition, completion, and sealing and plugging as
appropriate of the bore holes, seismic holes, alluvial wells and
monitoring well; and test pits.
The sandhill crane study results appear to indicate that the birds were not
disturbed by normal exploration activities. This is encouraging news. The
study was well worthwhile I would say. Thank you for sending us a copy.
If you have arty questions feel free to call me.
Sincerely,
'/~
Susan J.
