This aquifex system
will be dewatered during the operation.
~ Our concern -- one of our concerns was
how would dewatering affect any adjacent u:se to the
aquifer system as the lateral extent has ncot clearly
been defined.
Battle Mountain is putting together
and will submit a water augmentation plan to the
State Engineer's Office and submit to the wrater
courts, therefore precluding impacts to any adjacent
use which may exist.
Furthermore, they have conducted
a hydrogeologic investigation which indicates that
the potential for recharge close to mining would be
minimal.
And, finally, they have committed to
not allowing for water to be standing -- groundwater
to be standing within the pit after mining is
completed and therefore to that end will -- they'll
implement whatever measures will be necessary to
ensure that that would not occur.
MR.
