MINING PLAN
EXHIBIT B
1. Costilla County will use aggregate extracted for improvement
and development of road systems in Costilla County.
2. Mining operation will be of open pit type.
3. Over burden removed by ship loader and stock piled for
reclamation.
4. Deposit of over burden or topsoil is irrgeular, varied from
8' to 16' where available.
5. As product is removed it is either processed and stock piled
for later use, or moved to its final point of use.
6. There are no water improvements or water diversions. No
water has been encountered either surface or underground.
7. Gravel pit has been in operation approximately four years.
8. There would be a total disturbed area of 8.35
9. Side slopes will be maintained on 1~ to 1 slope by dozer.
10. Mining will take place from South to North to a depth of
approximately 20 feet. Present size of pit is approximately
100 feet long by 150 feet wide.
11. Crusher being used is a Ceder Rapids portable type.
1. No spray bar are required.
2. No emission permits are required.
3. Only source of water is from the Chama community
approximately 7 miles away.
12. No reliable time table can be established for the mining
operation because;
1. It is difficult to anticipate the demand for product.
2. We do not know the actual depth of deposit.
However, we would anticipate from the amount removed that we
could extract product for another 7-8 years, but Costilla County
would not remove more than 70,000 tons per calander year.
