Dear Mr. Rindahl:
The application for a Mined Land Reclamation Permit for the "Freu'd Pit" has
been received and was deemed complete (filed) January 18, 1985. here are
some issues that need clarification before the application is con idered
adequate. I would appreciate a response at your earliest conveni nce,
preferably some time before February 15th. This will allow suffi ient time
for review prior to the February 27 - 28, 1985 Board Meeting.
As you are aware, before the Board can consider this permit appli ation, our
staff must receive, review, and approve the proof of the two sequ ntial weeks
of publications (publisher's affidavit or a copy thereof) and the proofs of
notifications to adjacent landowners (certified mail white or gre n
receipts). Please send these to us as soon as they are available.
Clarifications are needed concerning the following issues: ~
Exhibit D - Wildlife, Water Resources, Vegetation, Soils Information
1. Water Resources:
Pertinent information (Exhibits B, C, D, and E) was sent to the
Division of Water Resources such that they can assess the impacts of
the proposed operation on ground and surface water resourc s. Any
comments that they may have will be forwarded to you as son as our
staff receives them.
2. Vegetation Information: ~~
Please indicate the species of and average percentage of ground covered
(aerial perpendicular projection) by the "brome grass" pre ent. Other
species present should also be identified and quantified ( ground
cover). The Soil Conservation Service provides competent v,~getative
analyses of this nature (typically, by use of a completed 0-ECS-2
form).
