Wildlife and the D.S. Fish and Wildlife Service suggest such
management techniques. Control of any accidental fires which might
occur in the permit area can be readily controlled through use of
the water trucks and heavy equipment described under Eule 2.05.3.
Alternative Land Oaes
All lands disturbed by mining related activities will be
returned to the premising land use categories of pastureland and
cropland. Since the land within the proposed permit area has
historically been actively managed for livestock grazing or crop
production, reclaimed tracts will receive the same management.
However, the proposed pastureland mixture contains woody and
herbaceous plan[ species capable of sustaining wildlife utilizing
revegetated areas. The grass species proposed for inclusion in the
perennial seed mizturea are capable or producing an abundance of
nutritious forage for livestock and wildife. The herbaceous and
woody species proposed in the revegetation plan will provide cover
similar to that presently encountered on undisturbed areas of the
mine plan and adjacent areas being managed as pastureland and
cropland. Bevegetated parcels within the proposed permit area will
provide a vegetation moaiac conducive to wildlife utilization and
the postmining land uses.
~~
2.05 - 132
