This includes the addition of
seven new impoundments (Area # 1 Pit, Thickner Underflow Holding Pond, Fish
Creek Tipple Waste Water Pond, and the series of four waste water treatment ponds at
Twentymile). Note that snow cover and recent sub-zero temperatures resulted in
limited visibility. Only Pond D and the four waste water treatment ponds were flowing
during the inspection. Following the first quarter 2006 inspection (which is anticipated
to have similar winter conditions), a detailed inspection of all sites will be performed
af=ter the spring thaw. Some dredging and maintenance is anticipated for the summer
of 2006 as noted in the reports.
This information is submitted in compliance with the Twentymile Coal Company
Permit C-82-056 and Rule 4.05.6(13). The inspections were conducted by a qualified
individual under the direction of Michael Ludlow, a registered professional engineer in
the state of Colorado (see next page).
Please contact me at (970) 870-2750 if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
~; ~ G
Brian A.
