. Revegetation success for production in reclaimed .areas of the tie-across haulroad will be
• ~ measured by comparing the averaged herbaceous production from either the low sagebrush or
• meadow reference area to the herbaceous production from the upland reclaimed areas or
lowland/drainage reclaimed areas, respectively. Herbaceous production will be estimated by
clipping the annual above ground biomass from randomly Iodated 1/2m2-1m2 plots. Fencing
or exclosures will be used to exclude livestock prior to sampling as necessary. Production will
be considered acceptable when the herbaceous production of the appropriate reclaimed area is
not less than 90 percent of the herbaceous 'production standard determined from the
corresponding reference areas with 90 percent statistical confidence. The relationship of
reclaimed areas to a particular reference area in the tie-across haul road corridor is similar to
the cover discussion for the corridor.
Production in the wheat cropland type will be evaluated by measuring grain produdtion or
using operators records in .the reclaimed area and comparing it to the current county average
wheat production figures determined ,from Agricultural Stabilization acid Conservation Service
IASCSI records for Routt County. The reclaimed wheat cropland will be sampled separately
from the adjacent wheat cropland. Unit area harvest data will be collected from the reclaimed
area to determine wheat production comparison values. Reclamation shall be cgnsidered
successful when production equals at least 90 percent .of the current county average with 90
.. percent statistical confidence. Because cropland in the area is summer (allowed, the last two
' consecutive growing seasons for production measurements will be in years 8 and 10 of the
extended liability period.
• ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ -
42a Revised 1/99
