<br />ENVIRO•TEST LTD. <br />WATER QUALITY STUDY <br />for H-G Coal Company <br />HAYDEN GULCH PROJECT <br />7CTION: <br />Purpose of Study <br />A water quality study was established during <br />the spring of 1977 to measure baseline data <br />for the H-G Coal Mine project near Hayden, <br />Colorado. This report is a continuation of <br />the 1977 study and was conducted from April <br />8, 1978 to June 30, 1978. The data presented <br />here is for baseline purposes. <br />Scope of Work <br />The water quality parameters sampled for this <br />study were submitted to the Colorado State <br />Water Quality Division and verbal acceptance <br />was received. The parameters measured at seven <br />stations were: <br />a) total suspended solids (TTS) (3 times) <br />ti <br />b) total dissolved solids (TDS) (3 times) <br />c) total iron (Fe) (3 times) <br />d) total manganese (Mn) (3 times) <br />e) temperature - (weekly) <br />f) pH - (weekly) <br />g) flow (CFS) - weekly) <br />The stream sampling stations are shown on Figures <br />1, 2 and 3. <br />Stations HG4 and SG1 were not set up for measuring <br />flow. <br />~ ~ The Stokes Gulch station (SG1) was sampled to show <br />the water quality of a water shed that could impact <br />Dry Creek between the two Dry Creek Stations <br />
