This pond was originally used as a temporary holding
pond receiving water from an irrigation ditch to the east. The water was then transported to the
pump house to the south using an existing ditch. The pump house then used the water to protect
orchard trees from freezing. This operation occurred very infrequently. When the pond was first
installed in 1989-1990, water poured through the gravel bottom and the pond was unusable. For
this reason, the pond was lined with clay mud to seal it. After that work, the pond has always held
water extremely well. The pond has not been used since 1995 and is not planned for future use,
however, a damage waiver is included in this section.
k) Barbed wire and post fence on the Randy Timothy Carlill property immediately south of the
mine permit area.
None of the other structures (other than the cable tv line) will be affected by the mining operation.
North Fork Pit Mazch 04 47
