The Department is aware of the haul activities that will impact the Highway
system. We are in the process of reviewing your submittals for access to haul materials mined from
property owned by Navajo Development, LLC to property owned by the Mineral County Fairgrounds.
Our understanding of the project is that approximately 20,000 cu. yds. of material will be used for the
cleanup of mill tailings, and that the project has CDPHE oversight.
The Department will be issuing a permit for temporary access to accommodate the haul activities. We
expect that the permits will be issued in the near future.
Should you have additional questions please feel free to contact me at (970) 385-8368.
Sincerely,
Stephni Balzly
_ RS Assistant Access Manager_
Cc: Access file; Pickren

5
QJ.v
SEP 12 2007
Division ofa d Safetyon
Mining
