construction will be comprised of native soil, end no spoil materiels will be used for •
bat kfilling these crossings within the buffer zone. Conveyance ditches proposed along
Haul Road B et culvert YB-b will k>e designed to feature sufficiently low gradients (.02
ftlft average), and in combined or. with riprepped downdre(ns to the Armand Draw stream
channel, will adequately convey runoff from the haulroad without contributing significant
additional suspended soilds.
The crossing of Scotchman's Gulch nt Culvert YA-6 along Haul Road A will be comprised of
two 72-inch CNP culverts riprepped at both up-end downstream ends similarly backfilled
with native materials, and are designed to pass the 10-year 24-hour runoff event.
Riprepped downdrains will be constructed along the haulreod at this crossing to convey
runoff from the low gradient (.OZS ft/ft average) ditches proposed to control heulroad
runoff. The ditches will be designed to adequately convey the 10-year, 24-hour runoff
volume, and in combination with the low gradient design and riprepped downdrains, will
prevent additional significant contributions of suspended soilds to Scotchmen's Gulch.
Following reclamation grading, salvaged tposoil will be replaced et each crossing and will
be disked to partially tie in with the adjacent undisturbed vegetation. Revegetation •
methods will follow those described in Tab 22, Revegetation. An appropriate seed mixture
which contains a number of the native species found in the stream disturbance areas as
well as other desirable species, will be used for revegetation.
The impact of the culvert crossings along Armand Draw and Scotchman's Gulch on the
hydrologic balance should be negligible. The disturbance areas ere minimal end do not
significantly affect the main channels. Haul road ditches are properly designed. Salvaged
topsoil will be replaced and a seed mix containing native species will be used to
revegetate the disturbance area when it is reclaimed.
Vater Rights and Alternative Water Suoolies
Introduction. Adjudicated surface and ground water rights, as well as unadjuditated water
sources within and adjacent to the Yoast Mine have been investigated with regard [o
SCC's proposed operation of the Yoast Mine. Table 16-1 provides a listing of water rights
investigated including locations, decreed amounts, use classifications and adjudication
dates. Exhibit 16-1 depicts the locations of the water rights presented in Table 16-1, •
including one unadjuditated, recently-drilled well along Sage Creek used for domestic
drinking eater end two unadjuditated small stock tanks.
B Revised 03/01/95
