Air mist (3 to 5 gallons per minute [gpmJ) was
used as a circulation medium. The injec[ion water came Iiom neazby Yellow Creek. Mier
intersecting the water table at approximately 27S feet. groundwater dischazge measurements
were taken periodically by Lang personnel Collection of groundwater geochemical data by
Daub & :1ssociates. Inc., personnel began at 1.095 feet and continued to the bottom of the hole.
Because of the signiFcant groundwater flow (approximately 60 to 75 gpml. drilling of the
l0-inch-diameter hole with the air-hammer assembly was suspended at 755 feet on Januarv 7,
2000 (04:301. 1-he drill string was tripped out of the hole and the air-hammer bit was replaced by
a 9g•inch tricone bit.
